A reminder that I am now posting more frequently on my website blog rather than on this Creative Color Blog and on my Third Time Around Blog. To see more samples of the plein air landscapes I painted last month in California please visit the new blog at ChrisCarterArt.com
I will continue to post on this blog, but maybe only once a month. I post weekly exercises and new paintings on the website blog. You may also subscribe to a monthly Newsletter to update you on current exhibits and workshop schedules.
Thank you for viewing my work.

are any of your images available in a large canvas format? I’m thinking of the “6:45 am Ocean City MD” image and the one underneath it on your blog of the two figures at the ocean in Ocean City.

Thanks for the inquiry, Nancy. I no longer offer reproductions of any of my work. I sell only originals.

well, are either of those images for sale as originals? What size are they? Do you take commissions?

The originals are very small and are in one of my handmade sketchbooks that I don’t cut apart. Yes, on occasion I accept commissions. Please send me a description of what you have in mind including size and medium as well as where you would want it to be shipped. I will get back to you by email with a quote.

large…30 x 40 inches or thereabouts…up to 36 x 48…doesn’t have to be exact. Canvas. this would be for a semiprotected location in an ocean apartment. very interested in something of Ocean City, Md, much like the two items from your sketchbook that i just mentioned, definitely similar colorings. No pressure, i understand if this is not something you want to take on.

Hmmmmmm. I will consider it. I use either oil or acrylic when I paint on canvas. Are you planning on framing it or would you like the deeper, Gallery style stretched canvas where the edges are painted, too. This style does not require a frame. If you do decide to frame it, you will need a deep frame to accommodate the depth of the stretchers. I’ll get back to you within the week.

canvas

Yes, canvas. The two questions I posed are 1. oil paint or acrylic paint? and 2. 3/4″ deep stretchers that fit easily into frames or the 1.5″ deep stretchers that don’t show any staples and can be hung either with or without a frame?
